Annie Sullivan will help Helen Keller discover language and the outside world, despite Keller being deaf and blind, in The Miracle Worker, which opens at Floyd Central High School on Friday.
The Miracle Worker will take place Sept. 14, 15, 20, and 21 at 7:30 p.m. each night. Matinee shows, meanwhile, will go on Sept. 16 and 23 at 2 p.m. each day. All performances are to happen at Floyd Central High School, located at 6575 Old Vincennes Road in Floyds Knobs, IN.
Tickets for each show are $10 for adults and $6 for students. Due to limited space in the Studio One Theatre, reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 812-542-2284. More information on Floyd Central Theatre can be found at its website.
Helen Keller became an influential author, activist, and lecturer during her life despite being deaf and blind. She went much beyond her supposed limitations. In The Miracle Worker, though, we see her struggles as she learns language and of the outside world. A determined teacher, Annie Sullivan reaches out to Keller in order to accomplish the feat. While teaching Keller, Sullivan also battles past the doubts of Keller's family.

Following The Miracle Worker, Floyd Central High School will present The Music Man. Performances will run in November.
