Mike Armstrong is a very special, homegrown comedic voice, who has grown into one of the most sought after comedians on the circuit.  Born and raised here in Louisville – Armstrong never left his hometown no matter how popular he became – on account of the fact that he wanted to raise his children among the Bluegrass.

Armstrong is a former Louisville Police Officer, who gave up that gig to pursue his dream of being a professional comedian.  He exploded in popularity as a regular contributor to Bob & Tom in the Morning – where audiences embraced him as “The Former Cop Comedian.”  This garnered him a large following and has made him one of the most in-demand club comics in the country.

Armstrong is doing a homecoming show this weekend, a one night only special event at The Laughing Derby on Sunday June 21st.  Tickets are $20 and the show begins at 7:15 PM.

    About Brent Owen

Born and raised in Louisville, I have lived here most of my life (except during a short furlough, when I, lovelorn and naive, followed a girl to Baton Rouge). My roots are here, my family, my friends, and my life are all here. I work primarily as a free-lance writer for a few local and regional publications. I have also written two books (one a memoir, the other a novel) that barring some divine intervention, will probably never see the light of day. I find myself deeply ingrained in the local bar scene, or perhaps better said, I often indulge in the local drinking culture. I love music, movies, comedy, and really just about any other live performance art.
