Louisville native on 'America's Got Talent'

It seems that Louisvillians are taking over the television airways lately, or maybe we’re just looking for them. Either way, we have another one for you to look for tonight while watching your evening programming.  Jacob Williams, a Louisville native, will appear on America’s Got Talent tonight at 8 pm on NBC. Tonight, Williams will be battling to remain in the competition along with 11 other contestants who are also in the top 48.

Williams, a 23-year-old comedian currently residing in Chicago, has received some very encouraging comments from judges Howie Mandel, Sharon Osbourne and Howard Stern. Mandel even told him, “People are going to remember you.” We know that we will!

Williams attended Louisville’s own St. Francis high school and then moved to Beloit, Wisconsin to attend a small college. His profile on NBC’s website states that his “first unofficial attempt at comedy was during his high school graduation speech in 2007.” Maybe some of you were lucky enough to witness that for yourselves.

Williams is the personification of the age-old cliché “you can’t judge a book by its cover.” The comedian has been receiving some extra publicity because his somewhat “nerdy” appearance may lead some to believe that he is not, in fact, funny. Williams made it publically known that he realized he looked as if he should be behind a book instead of a microphone by stating, “"I don't know how to fix your computer, I just look like I do." I told you he was funny.

Despite what some may have thought at first glance, this 23 year old has even more jokes up his sleeve. E News even recently wrote an article headlined “America's Got Talent: Surprise! Jacob Williams Is Actually Funny.” If you want to make that judgment for yourself tune in tonight at 8 pm and maybe even send a vote his way.
