August at Louisville Free Public Library – All month long, the various locations of LFPL are hosting Local History and Genealogy at the Library Programming. This past week, LFPL also announced their Authors at the Library series for the next few months, which includes appearances and talks with the following authors:
Chris Tomlinson (Tomlinson Hill: The Remarkable Story of Two Families who Share the Tomlinson Name—One White, One Black)
Gail Sheehy (Daring: My Passages)
Steven Johnson (How We Got to Now: Six Innovations That Made the Modern World)
Dan Jones (The Wars of the Roses: The Fall of the Plantagenets and the Rise of the Tudors)
Azar Fafisi (The Republic of Imagination: America in Three Books)
Jonathan Eig (The Birth of the Pill: How Four Crusaders Reinvented Sex and Launched a Revolution)
All of the author events are free, but require an online ticket reservation.

Head to a baby storytime or preschool storytime this morning at the Main Library downtown. Baby storytime is at 9:15am and Preschool storytime is at 10am. Read more about library programs for younger ones here or see this link for more information about area libraries.

Want to learn a little bit more about uploading and editing your digital photos? The Jeffersonville Township Public Library is hosting a Managing Digital Photos program from 1:30-3:30pm. There are openings; the class will be held in the Gates Computer Lab.

Sunday, August 17
Head out to the Southwest Regional Library for a computer lesson; appointments are needed. While you’re out that way, stop by the new library under construction. It is located at 9725 Dixie Highway. I suggest grabbing a treat at Valley Dairy Freeze as well.
