Remember, September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month. Here’s what’s going on around Kentuckiana at your area libraries:
Barr Memorial Library in Fort Knox
Patrons can meet bestselling author Gregg Hurwitz today at 12pm. Check out all the offerings the Barr Memorial Library has going on, they are very interactive with their community.
Toddler Storytime and StoryHour begins on Tuesday, September 9. These programs are free and are for children birth to age 2 and ages 3-5 for each story type. Registration is required.
Thursday, September 11, 5pm-7:30pm – Ridgeway Memorial Library is hosting a Resource Night for middle school students and parents.
Jeffersonville Township Public Library
Friday, September 12, 2pm-3pm – A concert will be put on by The Silvertoners; it’s in the North Program Room.
Louisville Free Public Library
Construction and progress is still ongoing on the new Southwest Regional Library. Just the other day, the Library posted photos of thousands (more than 50,000 to be exact!) of new books arriving to line the new bookshelves.
Wednesday and Thursday, every week, most of the branch libraries host their toddler and preschool storytimes. Read more about storytime options in this Toddler Tuesdays highlight.

New Albany-Floyd County Public Library
Tuesday, September 9, 6pm – You’re invited to the Library’s Local Authors Fair tonight. All of your favorite genres will be covered and you can find out more about the authors’ newest projects. Refreshments will be served.
Saturday, September 13, 1pm-2pm – PAWS to Read is a program designed for children to read to a canine companion at the library. It’s a 15 minute session and you can register online.
The library in Shelbyville hosts many different programs such as storytimes, Zumba, yoga, line dancing, family movies, game days, and more. See their calendar for more information.
