The LGBT Film Festival started with a bang of movies and hors d'oeuvres  at the University Of Louisville last night. The evening had a healthy turnout including LGBT Film Fest jurors like Angie Fenton and Dawn Josephine Wilson and actors like Jacob Newton (pictured).

The festival opened the kickoff party with two comedies, You Move Me, a hilarious 12 minute Lesbian U Haul joke, and a tale of Christmas wishes, Walk a Mile in My Pradas.

Dawn Wilson told Louisville.com that the jurors watched a hours and hours of films to select films for the festival. Among her favorites was Undertoe, which plays this afternoon at the Clifton Center. She also said that some of the films felt like watching an, “After school special,” and wondered, “Where were these films when I was a kid?”

The festival continues this Saturday and Sunday with films, opportunities to meet the cast and crew of festival films and a scavenger hunt to find actor Jacob Newton in various locations in Louisville. Follow @TLAReleasing on Twitter for more details on how you can win a year's worth of TLA DVD's from TLA Releasing and the Louisville LGBT Film Festival.
