Kristin Key is a walking ball of sunshine: a foulmouthed ball of quirky optimism floating in a world of weirdness and cynicism.  She is fun and full of high energy with comedy show that goes from zero to sixty within seconds of taking the stage.  She is one of the few comedians who manages to maintain her frantic and animated body language from beginning to end of the show.

Key found herself in the spotlight when she was selected to be featured on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” where she went on to be a finalist.  As one of the youngest finalists, she was still a college student in west Texas studying to be a paramedic, when she was flown to Los Angeles and being featured on a weekly network reality show.  The endless panel of judges fell in love with her quirky but well-defined stage presence.  This gave her the opportunity to be seen by comedy legends like Gary Marshall, who instantly fell in love with her, and commenting that she has “perfect delivery.”

Currently living in LA, Kristin Key’s show is fast paced, quick-witted, and fearless. She blends her talent for both music, comedy, while integrating her spontaneous sense of humor creating a high wire act where anything can happen on any given night so that no two shows are ever the same. She has been called “Hilarious! She’s not afraid to improvise.” by Colorado Springs Independent “Kristin Key is funny and very original” by nationally headlining comedian Michael Brown.

Kristin Key will be performing at The Laughing Derby September 10th through September 12th.  The show times will vary (early and late shows Friday and Saturday).  Tickets are still available for $15; and Jeff Bodart will also be on the show.

    About Brent Owen

Born and raised in Louisville, I have lived here most of my life (except during a short furlough, when I, lovelorn and naive, followed a girl to Baton Rouge). My roots are here, my family, my friends, and my life are all here. I work primarily as a free-lance writer for a few local and regional publications. I have also written two books (one a memoir, the other a novel) that barring some divine intervention, will probably never see the light of day. I find myself deeply ingrained in the local bar scene, or perhaps better said, I often indulge in the local drinking culture. I love music, movies, comedy, and really just about any other live performance art.
