People of all ages came to see the great Jim James perform on the Mast Stage, Saturday at Forecastle. Jim serenaded the crowd with psychedelic and indie songs like “State of Art - A.E.I.O.U.,” “A New Life,” “All is Forgiven,” and “Of the Mother Again.” Jim even showed off his saxophone and guitar skills. Words can not explain how awesome Jim James was at the festival. His unique and incomparable voice made Forecastlers sway and revel in his talent. Jim had listeners on the edge of their seats (or toes if standing) with each lyric and note. Jim knows how to put on a show and has amazing stage presence. It was a show to remember. At one point, Jim lifted up a small golden bear statue and showed it to the audience, making the bear dance and peak around him. Jim, being a Louisville native, really made his hometown proud at Forecastle. Even though his solo career is successful, I can’t help but hope to see My Morning Jacket perform together again. Jim tweeted, “thanks @forecastle! what a night!!!” I agree, what a night indeed!
