On Friday, Houndmouth rocked it out on the Mast Stage in front of thousands of Forecastlers. It was the first performance that I saw at the festival, and it was a great way to kick it off. Almost everyone in the audience was dancing, swaying and/or singing along. Houndmouth played hit songs like “On the Road,” “Penitentiary,” and Bob Dylan’s “I Shall Be Released.” Fiddle player Scott Moore of The 23 String Band joined Houndmouth on stage and jammed with them for a few songs. It was also Zak Appleby’s (bassist) birthday and the crowd sang a short version of “Happy Birthday.” Houndmouth was ecstatic to be able to play at Forecastle again and to perform so close to home! Check out their album “From The Hills Below The City” which is out now.
