“Thanks everybody!  I’m glad we are getting our time to play” lead singer Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes said when they finally got their time to play at Forecastle on Saturday, after being delayed because of a thunderstorm threat. They came out strong and ready to rock the stage, and the audience was ready for them. Their set included hit songs like “Hold On” and “Rise to the Sun.”

Even though the crowd was irritated with being evacuated from the Forecastle grounds earlier in the day, The Alabama Shakes quickly lifted spirits and made the festival’s moral high again. They completed their entire set and the rest of the festival band times were pushed back. According to their Facebook page they had a blast in Louisville and loved the “insane crowd” at the Forecastle Music Festival.
