Halloween in Louisville: Devil's Attic remains one of best haunted houses
    Print this page

The Devil's Attic continues to grow in popularity amongst Louisville's favorite haunts. It's no surprise. Their attic full of lost souls is sure to terrify and amuse.

The 15 - 20  minute haunt serves up scene after scene of horror fame, including scenes from "The Ring", "13 Ghosts", "Saw", "Frankenstein" and many others. You'll enter through the throne room of Mr. Big Bad Guy himself, the Devil. He'll introduce you to his collection and send you on your way to meet the many different souls he's gathered and locked away in the building at 647 West Hill St.

I find this haunt to be one of the more artistic and detailed with a great use of lighting and costuming. I've made it an annual Halloween tradition. The actors of this haunt are extremely dedicated and often return year after year to participate. The haunt has grown in size and terror, adding new scenes or activities each year. This year, they've added a show outdoors where the Devil occasionally appears from a hole in the building near the roof and calls to his Orlock to bring a sacrifice. There are also bands, fire performers and other special events scheduled on weekend nights. Visit their web site for more information.

The yearly vehicle give away is one of the most tremendous features of this haunt. Every year, the Devil's attic has given away a motorcycle or hearse in a random drawing. This year's vehicle is a Ducati motorcyle with a $500 gift card to CC Power Sports so you can customize the ride! To enter, text DEVIL to 81530.

Your remaining chances to visit this haunt are this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday or on Halloween night. Their hours on Friday, Saturday and Halloween are 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Their hours on Sunday are 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Tickets are $17 or $22 for a speed pass to the front of the line. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
