Green Day's American Idiot is a rock musical showcasing three young souls trying to figure out life in a post-9/11 world. All three men find themselves stuck between going towards their dreams or staying in the supposed safety of suburbia. While going along their chosen paths, they will be involved in situations of love and war.
Green Day's album American Idiot served as the basis for the musical. The American Idiot album earned Green Day a Grammy award. The musical, meanwhile, earned two Tony awards during its Broadway run.
