The Churchill Downs Paddock Concert Series, which started two weeks ago, features nationally known artists every Friday through June 20 in the historic Churchill Downs paddock. Tonight, Louisville native Dawn Landes and her band the Hounds will headline. The music of Dawn Landes was recently featured in a commercial for Chrysler's Town & Country. Her melodic style and sweet tone is reminiscent of Ingrid Michaelson or Feist.
The featured performance is expected to start around 8:15 PM and will last approximately 90 minutes. The first 850 people in attendance for the concert will be allowed access into the saddling paddock to watch the concert up close in a VIP Watch Area free of charge.
Gates open at 1:30 PM with the first post at 2:45. An opening band will perform between live races starting just before 5:00 and continue until 8:00.
Churchill Downs is also offering their Friday Happy Hours sponsored by Budweiser Select from 6:00 - 8:00 PM tonight, which includes $2 Budweiser products, frozen specialty drinks and hot dogs available in the paddock area.
