<p>Don’t have a $300 to drop on a ticket to the Taste of Derby party? Didn’t get an invite to the $1,250 <a href="http://www.louisville.com/tags/barnstable-brown-derby-eve-gala">Barnstable Brown Gala?</a></p><div>Can’t score seats to the Derby—even if you could afford them?</div><div> </div><div>You’re not the only one. </div><div> </div><div>While the rest of the country turns their eyes toward the Twin Spires and the media plasters their pages with images of celebrities rubbing elbows at outrageously lavish parties, most of the city’s residents turn toward pastures that are a little less green.</div><div> </div><div>One of those pastures is the two-acre spread that belongs to Jim Hafendorfer, host and founding member of the <a href="http://www.hillbillyoutfield.org/Default.aspx">Hillbilly Outfield Kentucky Derby Party</a>. Since 2000, Hafendorfer has opened his land to welcome hundreds of party-goers each year, all in an effort to support the local Make-A-Wish Foundation.</div><div> </div><div>Since that inaugural shindig, the Hillbilly Outfield has raised almost $95,000 for the Foundation, granting the wishes of over 16 local kids, and granting a weekend of fun to numerous Louisvillians. </div><div> </div><div>Beginning Friday, partygoers can don a wristband and enjoy all of the included food, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, cornhole tournaments, putt-putt golf course, audio-video coverage of the Derby, and live music that the entire weekend has to offer.</div><div> </div><div>The highly-acclaimed <a href="http://www.juggernautjugband.com/">Juggernaut Jug Band</a> will play on Oaks night from 7:30-11:30, and Derby night features the band Fusionary from 8-12 midnight.</div><div> </div><div>Tickets for the party may be <a href="http://www.hillbillyoutfield.org/Product_Details.aspx?productid=335">purchased online</a> until May 4 for $50. Children 12 & under are free, and students ages 13-17 are half price. Tickets purchased after May 3 are $60. All proceeds benefit the Greater Kentucky, Ohio and Southern Indiana chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.</div><div> </div><div>The <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/Hillbilly-Outfield-Annual-Derby-Party/372792007367">12th Annual Hillbilly Outfield</a> Kentucky Derby Party commences at 6pm this Friday, and continues through midnight on Saturday.
