Bohemians fall in love but face harsh realities in La Boheme, a Kentucky Opera production that runs this weekend.

La Boheme will take place on Sept. 20 at 8 p.m. and Sept. 22 at 2 p.m. Both performances are to happen in the Brown Theatre, located at 315 W Broadway in downtown Louisville.

Tickets for each show are $34-$98, depending on the show and seat. All tickets can be purchased at the Kentucky Center for the Arts box office, the Kentucky Center website. or by calling the box office at 1-800-775-7777.

La Boheme focuses on a group on bohemians in 19th Century Paris who attempt to survive on their chosen life of creating art. However, realities of life come into the group, including poverty and ill health. Despite love being thrown into the mix, each of the bohemians must let go of whatever in order to keep living.

Giacomo Puccini created the opera, which features Corinne Winters as Mimi and Patrick O'Halloran as Rodolfo.

Following La Boheme, Kentucky Opera will present The King's Men. That production will take place in October.
