This weekend at The Laughing Derby, Big Mike and his monthly Comedy Blast are bringing you a very special show, when they bring Jovan Bibbs to Louisville.

Bibbs is a well-respected comic voice that has been entertaining clubs and theaters with his special style of comedy for years.  Jovan is nationally recognized comedian, who is becoming one of the most in demand names among club owners all over the country.  He has a very specific voice and a unique energy on-stage that has led him to selling out show rooms all over the country.  He was born and raised in St. Louis, and is still based out of his hometown.  He is a club comic through and through that has spent years cutting his teeth on the road to become an increasingly dynamic performer, who hosts his own regular show in different venues around his hometown called Class Klowns.

All of his hard work has paid off, seeing as Bibbs’ comedy has been featured on some cable’s finer stand-up showcase programs, such as:  BET’s Comic View and Laffapalooza.  The latter of which was produced by Academy Award winning actor, and revered stand-up comedian Jamie Foxx; and it was hosted by comic genius and star of NBC’s “30 Rock” Tracey Morgan.

Big Mike’s Comedy Blast, is a monthly showcase show that takes over the second Sunday night of every month at The Laughing Derby – and this time around for June Bibbs is going to be the headlining performer on a bill that surrounds him with promising young talent.

Big Mike’s Comedy Blast presents: Jovan Bibbs at The Laughing Derby on Sunday, June 14th.  The show begins at 8:00 PM and tickets are available for $15.  Comedians Jamahl Key, Damone Means, and Tara Crush will also be on the bill.

    About Brent Owen

Born and raised in Louisville, I have lived here most of my life (except during a short furlough, when I, lovelorn and naive, followed a girl to Baton Rouge). My roots are here, my family, my friends, and my life are all here. I work primarily as a free-lance writer for a few local and regional publications. I have also written two books (one a memoir, the other a novel) that barring some divine intervention, will probably never see the light of day. I find myself deeply ingrained in the local bar scene, or perhaps better said, I often indulge in the local drinking culture. I love music, movies, comedy, and really just about any other live performance art.
