John Roy is a hairless ball of self-deprecating humor for a new generation. He sees the world through the prism logic and reason. He takes audiences down the worm hole by making observations on society, history, and self-image.
The Chicago native (who now lives in Los Angeles), has managed to keep his mid-west charm, while maintaining the intellect and mild cynicism that makes for great comedy. Spending well over a decade on the road, criss-crossing these United States, Roy has become one of the most in demand comedians in the country – and one of the most respected stand-ups in Los Angeles. He has also appeared on network and cable late night talk shows hosted by Craig Ferguson, Conan O’Brien, and Jay Leno.
He has also partnered up with Ferral Radio and has been doing his own podcast called “Don’t Ever Change.” It’s an in depth, sit down interview with some of the hottest comedians in the country, focusing on mostly on their high school and formative years. The years that often damage adults so severely that they end up standing on-stage in front of total strangers, telling glib jokes, seeking personal validation in the way of audience laughter. And sometimes they just have happy childhoods and end up comedians because they wanted to, but that takes all of the fun out of it.
