Armchair Bourbon Tasting At Locust Grove With Susan Reigler
    Print this page

Susan Regiler is a founding member of The Bourbon Women and its current President of the Board of Directors. She also belongs to BARDS, a group of bourbon and rye enthusiasts that meets monthly. Reigler is the author of Kentucky Bourbon County: The Essential Travel Guide. She co-wrote The Kentucky Bourbon Cocktail Book with Joy Perrine. Her next book, this time co-written with Michael Veach, is due to come out in a month.

The Bourbon Tasting Notebook (available for pre-order here) includes both Veach’s and Regiler’s tasting notes for over 200 bourbon brands. It will also include space for bourbon enthusiasts to take their own notes as they work their way through Kentucky’s bourbon culture. They opted not to attach a rating system to the brands included in the notebook, instead focusing on price, mash bill, proof, color, nose, taste and finish.

On Thursday, Regiler will host an Armchair Bourbon Tasting event at Locust Grove. This event will be great for everyone, from beginner bourbonites to the more seasoned connoisseurs. Reigler will be sure to explain the proper tasting techniques for beginners while engaging the connoisseurs with historical facts and stories.

Tickets are $20 per person and $12 for Locust Grove Members, and the event is limited to tasters 21 years and older. The event will take place Thursday, August 6 from 6:30 - 8 p.m. at Locust Grove, 561 Blankenbaker Lane. Make reservations at (502) 897-9845.
