Bourbon Women Sip-osium To Be Held In August
    Print this page

Sometimes during the stress of the late summer, you start to feel the need to get away.  Maybe you’ve already done the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and you still want a bourbon-themed getaway outside of the state.  Enter The Bourbon Women’s first annual Sip-osium.

This two-day event will be held at the beautiful French Lick Resort in Indiana.  The rates vary based on whether you are a member of the Bourbon Women, and the non-member rates include a one year membership to the organization.

The first evening will consist of a cocktail reception, which is always a great way to kick off your weekend.  The second day will consist of workshops, exhibits, and a reception and dinner on Saturday night.  The French Lick Resort is offering discounted room rates for anyone who wants to stay on the premises, as well as 10% off spa treatments.  I don’t know about you, but a weekend at a resort with bourbon, a massage, and a pedicure would make me feel like a new person.

If you just want to attend the Saturday events, a shuttle from Louisville will be $25 and will depart from and return to The Sullivan University Bakery parking lot.  It’s a two hour drive, so why not let someone else handle that for you?

The featured speaker panel will include Bourbon Women founder Peggy Noe Stevens, Kristin Meadors of the KDA, founding member Cynthia Torp, author Susan Reigler, and Monique Houston of Elle.  They will discuss bourbon basics, labeling, and tasting strategies.

Click here for tickets and more information.  The sip-osium will take place August 22-23.
