Since the weather might coop family up at the tail end of the week, treat yours to the Annual Locust Grove Family Picnic this coming Sunday, Aug. 14th. Locust Grove invites folk and their families to relax with a "slow food" picnic--the farm's fourth--featuring local growers and local food trucks from noon to 4:30pm. And as an alternative to enjoying the featured food, Locust Grove encourages attendees to lug along their own picnic basket. Besides munching, there will be the popular Cast-Iron Chef demonstration, hands-on demonstrations, talks on growing and eating food locally, and a tour of the recently restored 1790s House, Museum gallery and gardens. The event costs just $5 per car, though walkers and bikers may mosey inside for free.
Contact Historic Locust Grove for more information on the event at (502) 897 9845.
