One of my favorite fall events in Louisville is the Highlands Fest, which is coming up this Saturday, September 14th from 1:00-11:00 pm. This also happens to be the day of that little rivalry in town we call the UL v. UK game. There hasn't been much publicity for the Highlands Fest this year, but the Outlook Inn is advertising on Facebook.

How does a day in the mid 70's with low humidity sound? The forecast is predicting 77 degrees and sunny, which will make for a beautiful September Saturday. The 900 block of Baxter Avenue, starting at Highland Ave. will be blocked off. You will enjoy local vendors and art booths, music, yummy eats, a kids area and a great football game. The Outlook Inn will open at 11 am, and has a new 60 inch TV in the back room for the 12:00 game time. They will feature $1 Jell-O shots and their infamous Bloody Mary's will be flowing all day. Lion Named Roar and The Pass will be the featured bands. Come down to the heart of the Old Highlands for some fun in the not-so-hot sun!
