    Bardstown Bound "BooFest" has a little something spooky for everyone, and it has returned to the Highlands in Louisville for the twelfth year. It is on Saturday, October 24 from noon to the witching hour.


    Bardstown Bound "BooFest" is, according to Caroline Knop of Simply PR, "one of the sweetest grassroots community events around!" It is an all day affair along Bardstown Road, and more specifically in the area that has been deemed Boo Alley, which is the parking lot of William Dean Salon. The main event runs from 2 p.m to 7 p.m., but there are other activities going on before and after that. It is one of the longest running events celebrating Halloween and the Highlands and folks can enjoy Boo Alley, trick or treating, and the Valu Market candy maze for children and families as well as the newly added costume contest for those lovable pets.


    Trick or treat the streets of the Highlands as restaurants, bars and store along Bardstown Road open their doors and invite everyone to gather some goodies as well as shop, eat and drink throughout the street! Some of the highlights of this event include the following:
     

    ~From 2pm to 7pm, Boo Alley at William Dean Parking Lot will feature festive fun!  Gordon Biersch will have two seasonal beers on tap

    ~Gordon Biersch – The downtown Louisville location is hosting a Pig & Swig Party. It will be a scary good time for all ages!

    ~Dragon Kings Daughter will be serving a few devilish dishes plus have the DKD Snack Truck at Boo Alley!

    ~Spudz Chips Tailgate Express team will pass out chips plus DJ Lisa with Lightning Karaoke will be spinning some scary good “Thriller” tunes from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

    ~Artists and Vendors will be selling their crafts and passing out candy

    ~Vendors' fee will benefit Kenn Parks son, Phil and his medical bills. Kenn Parks is a staple supporter of the Highlands and all things local (his son Phillip is suffering from brain cancer).

    ~Trick or Treating in participating stores

    ~The Back Door will offer 10% off their menu from 1p.m. to 3 a.m.for BooFest. Their famous Halloween Costume Party will be on Halloween night.

    ~Participate in the 3rd annual ValuMarket Haunted Candy Maze and Kids' Costume Contest and the new addition: Pet Costume Contest

    ~Heine Brothers’ Coffee on Longest will host pop-up shops on the patio featuring LIBA businesses

    ~Nearly New Shop celebrating their We will be giving out candy to  costumed shoppers and the entire store will be 25% off for BooFest

    ~StageOne's giant puppets will be there between 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. 
    ~Scarier folks from Industrial Terrorplex are also scheduled to appear
