Café Mimosa is a Louisville institution. My family has been going there for years, and we were all devastated when it burned down a few years ago. But it has been back in a new location for a while now, and we’re still enjoying all it has to offer.
They have a great lunch menu, full of Vietnamese favorites and various other Asian fare. Their full menu is literally pages long, with an accompanying sushi menu to boot. My overall favorite item on the menu is the shrimp and lettuce rolls, served with Thai peanut sauce. This paired with their chicken and rice soup is my comfort food.
So naturally I chose to dine there for my birthday with my family and friends. It seemed like we all got noodles of some kind, so my kids were happily slurping away as the adult got caught up with each other. We enjoyed various kinds of curry, lemongrass, and tofu dishes. With such an expansive menu, there is something for even the pickiest of eaters.
One of the most pleasant things about their new location is watching life go by on the bustling street outside. People walk with their dogs, unique cars drive by, and you can watch it all while enjoying a cocktail in the relative quiet of the restaurant. They also have ample off-street parking, which, as you know, is a major bonus in the Highlands.
I highly recommend giving Café Mimosa a try if you haven’t before. If you haven’t been to their new location, check it out. Then tweet me @LouGirl502 and tell me what you had so I can live vicariously through you.
