    The Starry Sky
    Jefferson Memorial Forest
    1131 Mitchell Hill Road, Fairdale
    Jan. 22, 7-9 p.m.
View the first quarter moon (which apparently is something other than what you'll see walking behind a guy with his "pants on the ground, pants on the ground, looking like a fool with his pants on the ground") with the Louisville Astronomical Society and enjoy s'mores and stories around the campfire as well. This event pairs well with Galileo lives at the Highlands-Shelby Park Library, which runs through Feb. 10. Admission is $6.

    Paula Poundstone
Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts
    501 W. Main St.
    Jan. 23, 8 p.m.
Veteran comedian Paula Poundstone is bringing her observational stand-up act to Louisville Saturday night. For more on Poundstone, check out Louisville.com's interview with the comic. Tickets ($25, $32) are available online, by calling 502-584-7777 or at the box office.

    Halfway to Forecastle
    The Pointe
    1025 E. Washington St.
    Jan. 23, 9 p.m.
I've never heard of any of the 12 acts at this mini-fest, but that's not necessarily a bad thing--after all, I'd knew of most of the acts at HullabaLOU, which made me quickly realize how miserable its line up was. In addition to music, this event will feature a nautically themed fashion show, light and laser shows, graffiti artists, ice sculptures, break dancing, poster signings and more. Tickets are $15 in advance and can be purchased at eTix.com or ear-X-tacy (1534 Bardstown Road).
