The weekend rundown of gardening classes starts with the Bernheim Garden Harvest Festival at Bernheim Forest. It's the peak of harvesting the summer crops! The head chef of Brown-Forman, Mark Williams, will be putting on an entertaining and educating workshop as part of Bernheim's popular Smart Garden and Landscapes series of programs. The workshop, which will focus on the cooking with ingredients on hand currently in the garden, begins Saturday at 10am and ends at noon. Registration and payment for the class is required by 4pm Friday. Payment is $10 for members and $15 for non-members.

Also learn to preserve your bounty at the Foxhollow Farm Saturday afternoon from 1pm to 4pm. Jamie Shafer covers how to can the most unruly veggies. Registration and payment of $30 is necessary before the class. Call 502 241 9674 for more information.

If you missed Brown-Forman chef, Mark Williams, at Bernheim Forest--or, if you need a second helping of his delicious mentorship--sign up for the Slow Food Class at Yew Dell Gardens taking place Sunday, August 21st from 2pm to 4pm. Don't miss the ugly Tomato Contest! Enter your monster 'mater! Workshop payment is $20 for members and $25 for non-members.
