Evidence of sustainable gardening practices and the slow food movement can be seen all around town. Chickens cluck in chorus with the distant trains and sirens, newly budding gardens will soon creep over every square inch of front lot space, and tomato vines will adorn front stoops like guardian gnomes once did--watered by irrigation systems connected to rain barrels.
This weekend, Foxhollow Farm will host a family friendly festival celebrating the inception of growing season. June 4th from 12-5:00, families can get down with the dirt and celebrate all that nourishes with live music, a farmer's market, and sample farm-fresh foods by Farm to Fork Catering. Children can take an Icelandic pony or a good old-fashioned hay ride, experience a guided hike to the waterfall at 2:00, or participate in kid-friendly arts and crafts.
Foxhollow Farm is a grass fed beef and vegetable farm in Crestwood, KY (8905 Hwy 329), just off the Brownsboro exit from 71.
