    Makerplace Family Workshop at Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana's Council
    The MakerPlace allows kids and families to bring ideas and inventions to life. We’ll help you find inspiration, learn to use cool tools like laser cutters and 3D printers, figure out how to turn a handful of electronics and wires into programmable machines, and much more. No two workshops are alike, we challenge you to design something new at each workshop. Participants are encouraged to bring a hack-able object from home for a one of a kind creation. May's workshop is "Brain Game" — can you beat the machine?

    The Louisville Free Public Library’s How-To Festival
    This free interactive learning event showcases local experts teaching participants how to do more than 100 things in 5 hours—everything from how to square dance to how to make simple home repairs to how to garden. Last year's festival attracted nearly 4,000 people and we hope to make this year's festival even more successful! So mark your calendars for the second Saturday in May and join us at the How-To Festival.

    Bridge To Beer at Red Yeti, Against the Grain, Goodwood Brewing and Flat12
    Hey everyone! We're inviting you to come join in a really fun beer walk. This is a FREE event for all to join in. Only cost is anything you want to purchases to drink! We will be starting at Red Yeti Brewing Company at 11:30am, then across the Big 4 Bridge to Against The Grain Brewery at 1pm, then, we'll hop over to Goodwood Brewing (formally known as BBC) for their grand opening party with food trucks and live music, finishing up back across the Big 4 Bridge at Flat12 Bierwerks Jeffersonville. This will be about a 5 mile roundtrip walk, so wear your comfortable shoes.

    Louisville Art Affair at Mellwood Art Center
    The Louisville Art Affair is an indoor juried art fair on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 10th, 2015 at the Mellwood Arts Center.     Mother's Day at the Louisville Zoo
    Celebrate Mother’s Day with free Zoo admission for moms courtesy of McDonald’s Restaurants of Kentuckiana. Enjoy zoo keeper talks featuring our animal moms, like Thelma, a reticulate python that is Mom as well as Dad!  Visit the Islands Pavilion from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to learn about the Orangutan Outreach MOM campaign.  Be sure to check out other keeper presentations with fun facts about animal moms. Find out what human and animal moms have in common and participate in a fun scavenger hunt (pick up your scavenger hunt form at the entrance and turn in when you exit).  First 1000 kids to complete the scavenger hunt will receive a free McDonald’s Happy Meal voucher. Gift bags will be provided to the first 500 moms courtesy of McDonald’s Restaurants of Kentuckiana.
