Louisville's beloved burlesque troupe returns after a seasonal hiatus for some holiday fun
with Va Va Revue: Naughty or Nice.
The Vixens will be appearing with ole' Crass Kringle on a new stage at Headliner's Music Hall.
The show will include all the classic burlesque you can handle, a variety of performance and a
slew of new performers.
The
Vixens have been performing in Louisville for 2 years with an array of humorous antics, sexy dances, and classical burlesque acts in addition to a variety of other performances like magic and aerial arts. Founder and co-producer of the vixens Christiane Nicoulin (Vixin Herself) wears many hats as director, choreographer, costumer and sometimes dancer.
Co-producer Lisa Frye says that she is extremely excited about the new venue. "I think it will add a historical presence to the show," she said. "This one is a holiday show that mixes vaudeville style humor with a modern twist, and it will be nice to see the classical art of Burlesque on a more historical stage!"
The Vixens boast a pretty large rotating cast. The Valentine's Day show last year closed with a number that included everyone involved in that show and it had about 15 dancers on the stage at once. The girls use stage names as is customary with the art of burlesque.
According to their Facebook page, "The mission of the VaVa Vixens is to entertain the public while showing them true beauty with real women and to empower women through example and education. The Va Va Vixens encourage and accept women of all shapes, size, age, color and sexual preference."
Headliner's Music Hall is located at 1386 Lexington Rd. Tickets are available in advance at the
Headliners Web site: $20 for general admission and $30 for V.I.P. There will be five
performances with the following dates: 11/26, 12/2, 12/3, 12/9, 12/10.
