When I tried the upside down cupcake from Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen today, I thought I'd stumbled upon the beginnings of the newest dessert trend. Turns out, they've been making these sugary wonders for 25 years. I can't believe a thousand other bakeries haven't copied the upside down cupcake, because they were a genius invention. According to the website, the cupcakes are dipped into warm caramel icing and then left upside down to cool. Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen has 9 locations around town, so chances are there's a location nearby wherever you are. What are you waiting for? You know you're in need of a sugar fix. Go get one.
