Take the dog for a walk and raise your glass—tickets for the 2nd Annual Great Flanagan’s Beer Festival go on sale today at noon.

The event will take place Sunday, May 16th from 3:00–6:00 and will feature approximately 100 different beers to sample from about 50 craft breweries from the United States, Germany, Belgium and England. As most breweries will offer two styles each, Flanagan’s encourages attendees to (responsibly) sample as many as possible. According to Ashley Isaacs at Flanagan’s, “We aren’t giving out tickets so that you can only try 10 or 15—we want you to taste all 100 brews!”

Creations from local breweries such as New Albanian Brewing Company, Brownings, Kentucky Ale and Bluegrass Brewing Company will of course be on tap, as will such non-local providers such as Colorado’s Left Hand, Baltimore’s Clipper City, Cincinnati’s Christian Moerlein and Brooklyn from, well, Brooklyn. Still looking for more local connections? Flying Dog Brewery, whose labels feature Hunter S. Thompson’s

    Fear and Loathing

illustrator Ralph Steadman’s drawings, will also be included. (And speaking of dogs, canine guests are welcome but may not drink, regardless of age in dog years.

    And

, a portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Kentucky Humane Society.)

The festival will be held out side of Flanagan’s on Morton Ave., which will be closed off for the event. Live music from folk rockers Alanna Fugate and Justin Smith will provide the soundtrack for a great spring day—and if rain should come, the festival instead will be at Patrick O’Shea’s, 123 West Main.
