    I recently dropped in on my good friends at the Bluegrass Brewing Company at 636 East Main Street to say hello and enjoy a pint of their semi-annual seasonal selection, farm house style Saison.  According to, a Saison is a sturdy ale that was traditionally brewed during the winter months, to be consumed throughout the summer.  According the BBC's tasting notes their Saison boasts aromas of citrus esters and bready malt, and has a full body dominated early by complex malt that will fade into tangy citrus notes, finishing dry leaving your thirst quenched. 

    I would say that I found it a very drinkable brew and agree that you do get the slight hop bite at the back end of each delicious sip.  Weighing in at 4.9% ABV & 31 IBU's, this is a beer that you will easily be able to enjoy more than one of.  You'll be able to find it out and about now through probably early summer (I'd say middle to late May) before it is gone for another year.

    Suggested food pairings according to include:  Meat (Poultry, Fish, Shellfish) - Cuisine (Curried, Thai) - Cheese (Camembert, Fontina, Asiago, Colby, Parmesan, Gorgonzola, & Limburger).  It is also suggested to be served between 45-50 degrees, which means you probably want to let it set for a few minutes after being poured to allow more of the aroma and flavor to peek through.
