July Sub Rosa Creative networking event rescheduled for this Friday [Highlands]

July's gathering for one of Louisville's primary networking opportunities for Louisville's creative class was cancelled by a power outage and has been rescheduled for this Friday, August 10 at Bearno's in the Highlands with an array of exciting performances and the opportunity for Louisville's creative class to meet and mingle. Sub Rosa is always free to attend.

Sub Rosa has been at the forefront of creative networking in Louisville for four years and offers open mic opportunities to poets, comedians, musicians and other types of performance in addition to showcasing visual artists. The featured performers at each event are paid a stipend and anyone can sign up to share news, art,  or performance as open mic performers.

Morgan Boeckel will be hosting the musical part of the night indoors. The sign up list goes out at 8:30 p.m. and any musician may come and sign up to perform. The featured musical group is CPHR DVN (pronounced "Cypher Divine"). This group has interesting loops, live music mixing, and rhythmic rhyming by both  husband and wife Wize and Sultra that compliment Sultra's enchanting vocals. The married couple moved here from Hawaii and quickly found their way into the local creative scene, where they began immediately capturing minds and hearts. Their music and presentation seems to fall into an emerging genre known as vegan hip-hop.

Divinity Rose (myself) will be hosting comedy, poetry and other talents on the back deck. The featured poets at the original event were Madison West and Hazel. Hazel will be performing this Friday, while Madison has been rescheduled for August 24. (*Correction: The Bumpin' Betty Revue was originally scheduled to perform, but will not be at this rescheduled event. I mistakenly included The Rebel Riot Revue at time article was released by mistake.)The back deck offers sign up lists for both poets and comedians, while visual art is projected onto a screen behind the performers. If you want to project your visual art, arrive at 8:30 p.m. with a disk or your art on a flash drive, so that it can be moved into the folder for projection. Artists are responsible for putting their names on their images (and contact info if desired).

The show gets started between 9 and 9:30 p.m. and lasts until about 1 a.m. All ages are welcome to attend, although adult content is not censored on the microphone and some visual art may not be appropriate for young children. Questions may be directed to ddcsubmit at
