This month's arts and entertainment networking event will be tonight (12/28) and features Cincinnati poet Mick Parsons, who has recently traveled to many surrounding states to perform and take in the view. He shares stories in between poems and his storytelling keeps the audience captivated.

The featured musical act is Big Poppa Stampley, who has created his own style of music known as Carriblujazz. The genre mixes Cararibbean, blues and jass as the title suggests, and Big Poppa is as iconic as the title. He's hard to forget and hard to miss when he's out on the streets or up on a stage.

Anyone can sign up to perform at this arts and entertainment networking event or sell their art, books, etc. This month the group will be connecting with performers from several different cities via online connection.Poetry, comedy and other acts are upstairs, while music is in the main dining room.

Sub Rosa: The Creative Courtyard has been at the forefront of creative networking in Louisville for four years and offers open mic opportunities to poets, comedians, musicians and other types of performance in addition to showcasing visual artists. The featured performers at each event are paid a stipend and anyone can sign up to share news, art, or performance as open mic performers. Artists, authors and others are also allowed to bring their wares for sale. Event hosts do not take a commission.

Divinity Rose (myself) will be hosting comedy, poetry and other talents upstairs.  Other talent ranges from contortion and burlesque to fire spinning and juggling or magic. You  never know what you might find.If you want to project your visual art, arrive at 8:30 p.m. with a disk or your art on a flash drive, so that it can be moved into the folder for projection. Artists are responsible for putting their names on their images (and contact info if desired).

This month will be the second attempt to incorporate out of town performers via the internet and to broadcast local performances to them. Poetry and comedy performances at Bearno's will be broadcast (with permission).

The show gets started between 9 and 9:30 p.m. and lasts until about 1 a.m. The sign up lists for the open mic portion of the night will be put out at 8:30 p.m. All ages are welcome to attend, although adult content is not censored on the microphone and some visual art may not be appropriate for young children. Questions may be directed to ddcsubmit at gmail.com.
