    Bit to Do

Star Wars Night at Louisville Slugger Field
    Print this page

It’s a bonus opportunity to wear your Star Wars Halloween costume next weekend, as Louisville Slugger Field and the Louisville Bats host the first ever Star Wars Night on Sunday, July 27.

Wearing your movie character costume will score you a discounted ticket for the game: $5 for a Field Reserved ticket or $9 for a Premium or Club Level ticket (buy these on game day).

The team is going all out, too. They’ll be wearing custom-made rebel pilot uniforms. And those jerseys will be going on auction after the game (except for five of them, which Lucas Films requested for their archives). Proceeds from the auction will benefit Kosair Children’s Hospital.

Characters from the movie will make appearances throughout the evening. “Scheduled to appear” are: Darth Vader, R2D2, Storm Troopers, Snow Troopers, Captain Rex, Tie Pilot, Sandtrooper, Republic Commando 1138, Princess Leia, Rebel General, Jedi Knight, Dar Kyram, Blackbird, and Skana Dala. Video clips and other activities are planned to accompany the game.

Oh yes, and the Bats play the Charlotte Knights at 6:05 p.m. that evening. Surely, Charlotte has no chance resisting the Force.

    About Kachina Shaw

A transplanted Hawkeye, I've now lived in Louisville longer than any other city. Can't live without: my husband and fur babies, coal-black coffee, peanut M&Ms, sunflowers, monthly vacations, books, walking paths, massage and a big purse.
