Raxacoricofallapatorius has nothing on Whoville! Read my summary and review of All the WHOS in Whoville below, but beware of spoilers…

The play began in Whoville, where we were introduced to a grown Cindy Lou and her daughter, Mary Sue. Mary Sue had a bad experience with Christmas, which caused her mother to move her away from Whoville. They are visiting Cindy Lou’s mother and sister for the holidays for the first time in five years, but Christmas isn’t allowed due to Mary Sue’s anxiety. Meanwhile, the Grinch receives a message from his ancestors. Finding out that he’s the last of his kind sends the Grinch spiraling into depression and he soon regresses into his former self.

Awake and investigating on Christmas Eve night, Mary Sue soon finds both Santa and the Grinch. A battle ensues and Santa is feared to be gone when he suddenly regenerates into a new being, the Doctor. Seeing that Mary Sue is frightened, the Doctor is trying to console her when her aunt walks in and demands to know what’s happening. Mary Sue strolls away and is soon captured by the Grinch, and it’s up to the Doctor and Mary Sue’s family to save her and all of Whoville from the Grinch’s evil plans.

At times, the play was more satisfying for Doctor Who fans than even the 50^th anniversary episode because - SPOILER ALERT - everyone was included. Yes, from Hartnell to Smith, every Doctor makes an appearance (except Hurt for obvious reasons). Originally, I didn’t want to put such a huge spoiler in my review, but it had to be noted that the 2^nd, 7^th, and 9^th Doctors did a particularly fantastic job performing as their character. Two had Troughton’s mannerisms and facial expressions perfected. Seven’s voice sounded exactly like McCoy’s, and Nine combined Eccleston’s fun-loving and hard-nosed qualities flawlessly. 

There’s much to be said about little Mary Sue as well. For such a small child, this actress has big amount of talent.

Though confusing at times between the jargon of Doctor Who and the sporadic rhyming of Dr. Seuss, I highly recommend this play as a fun Christmas outing especially for fans of both Doctor Who and Doctor Seuss.
