Do you like Dr. Seuss? How about Doctor Who? If you answered yes to both questions, you’re going to love the Alley Theater’s latest original production written by Todd Zeigler and directed by Kathryn Furrow.
All the WHOS in WhoVille is a mashup of a classic Dr. Seuss story and the legend of the most famous time lord, the Doctor. (The picture from the Alley Theater’s website even hints at a nod to the band, The Who.)
From the Alley Theater’s website, “We present our very own Christmas special! The town of Whoville is menaced by an old green enemy bent on waging war on Christmas once again. But a Who from out of town arrives to save the day!”
All the WHOS in WhoVille will be performed at 7:30 on the dates of December 5th, 6th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 19th, 20th, and 21st. Tickets are only $17 and can be purchased at www.thealleytheater.org. Student, military, and senior citizen discounts are listed on the website as well.
As a Whovian, I hope this play will tie me over between the epic 50th anniversary episode of this past weekend and the sure-to-be emotional Christmas episode. As a teacher, I love that some of my favorite Dr. Seuss characters will be coming to life onstage in a production other than Seussical. I hope to see you there, but I’m not sure if I should put a banana in my pocket… or a wocket…
