The Sibling Rivalry Tour to stop in Louisville
    Print this page

The Sibling Rivalry Tour consists of two acts: Jessica Lea Mayfield and her brother David Mayfield. Though the siblings have been playing together nearly their entire lives, this is the first tour billed as such. Fun idea, no?

The Mayfields have played a lot of music in their time. Each began with their parents' family band, One Way Rider. Jessica performed as early as age eight, while David began at twelve. David, though perhaps lesser known in the world of popular music, has seen much exposure as a guitar and mandolin player, including even a performance at the Grand Ole Opry.

Jessica, on the other hand, began her popular folk style career when she was 15. Her first EP, White Lies, was released then, and gave way to the success of her first record, With Blasphemy So Heartfelt, which was helped along strongly by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys.

David Mayfield later released a solo record of his own, The David Mayfield Parade. Also leaning towards popular folk music, the album has seen considerable success. We will see how viscous the "rivalry" gets Tuesday at Zanzabar.

The show begins at 9:00 pm with opener Ian Noe. Tickets are available at the door or at Ticketfly.com
