    Monday (5/11) –

    Milky Chance with FMLYBAND

Upon first hearing these guys, we knew they’d be big.  The huge success of Sadnecessary goes to prove us right. This Headliners show sold out pretty quickly and will be a lively Monday night.

    Tuesday (5/12)-

TV on the Radio with Bo Ningen

With a new album, Seeds, for the first time in a few years, TV on the Radio is out doing what they do best- playing live shows.  Tunde Adebimpe’s distinct voice and the band’s overall techie and dark sound will be perfect for the Mercury Ballroom.

Death Cab for Cutie with The Antlers

Edit: sadly, this show has been canceled as a band member is sick. Full refunds will be provided.

    Wednesday (5/13)-

Communion Presents Peter Matthew Bauer, Firekid and Bridge 19

It is that time of the month and the Communion residency is back at Zanzabar.  Locals, Bridge 19, a lady-led indie band will get things going and Firekid’s upbeat banjo-driven sound will keep you moving.  Peter Matthew Bauer, formerly of The Walkmen, will close it out- his stuff is very intriguing and varying, hitting the right note with all types of music fans.

Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue with The London Souls

Trombone Shorty’s main attraction is a pretty obvious one- Troy Anderws works the trombone.  His voice is also phenomenal and he plays with such a positive, fun energy that everyone is partying by the middle of the set.  Rising band, London Souls, will start the night off.

    Friday (5/15) -

Lake Street Dive with The Congress

Lake Street Dive wrapped up last year’s Waterfront season with a gigantic crowd on the Big Four Lawn.  Rachael Price’s voice and charisma will make everyone’s Friday night that much more enjoyable.

    Thursday through Saturday (5/14-5/16) -

RiverRoots Music and Folk Arts Festival

WFPK is a proud sponsor of this folk festival across the river in Madison, IN.  With two stages going throughout the day, including acts like Willie Watson, Nick Dittmeier, Small Time Napoleon and Wood Brothers, this can make for a great day or whole weekend.

    Friday through Sunday (5/15-5/17) -

    Moonshiners Ball

If you’re looking for a folk-y, funky weekend, head on out to Lexington for the Moonshiner’s Ball.  There will be Kentucky roots galore through the three days of this festival.
