Second Annual Bourbon Mixer Happening Soon
    Print this page

Last year, the Kentucky Whisky Chicks paired up with the Bourbon Brotherhood to host the First Annual Bourbon Mixer. Together they raised over $10,000 for The Coalition for the Homeless, putting the organization that much closer to its goal of ending veteran homelessness. This year the Whisky Chicks and the Bourbon Brotherhood are at it again, this time raising money for Best Buddies of Kentucky.

Best Buddies of Kentucky is a volunteer organization that pairs volunteers from the community with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. These volunteers serve in schools, businesses and the community to help those with intellectual and developmental disabilities become more integrated into mainstream society.

According to the event website, “Best Buddies Kentucky currently supports 23 school-based inclusion programs throughout the state. This year more than 1200 youth and adults participated in Best Buddies middle school, high school and college programs in Kentucky. These programs help build a more inclusive world for people with IDD, one friendship at a time.”

Saturday August 15 at 6:30 p.m., the second annual Bourbon Mixer will take place at Passalino's, Louisville’s newest event space. Ladyfingers will be making the food, and so far eight bourbon brands will be represented. There will be beer and wine for the non bourbon drinkers of the group, and bourbon drinkers will have the opportunity to learn some mixology as they sample their bourbons. A silent auction will round out the evening.
