Princess Penelope's Dragon is essentially an update to the boy who cried wolf story. This time, it features a young girl who blames all of her problematic situations on her pink dragon. Themes of honesty and showing respect for others are explored during this world premiere comedy.
Matthew Brennan directed the production, which features Carly Stotts as Penelope, Sally Scott as Kate, Sandra Rivera as Mother and Dragon, Kyle Lueken as Smith, Kevin Crain as King and French Baker, and Chris Bryant as Simon the Guard.
More information on the show can be found at the Derby Dinner children's theater page.
During Princess Penelope's Dragon's run, Derby Dinner will also present Cash on Delivery. That show will happen until June 29.
Following Princess Penelope's Dragon's run, Derby Dinner children's theater will take a break for the summer before starting its new season in October. The season will include Dinosaurs Before Dark, Rudolph!, The Tooth Fairy, and Sleeping Beauty. Season tickets for these shows range in price from $28-$76 per person. More information on season tickets can be found at the Derby Dinner website.
