Her name is Lola, and she will be part of the Derby Dinner Playhouse presentation Copacabana, which opens Tuesday.
Copacabana will take place each day except Mondays from Feb. 18-Mar. 30. Evening shows will take place at 7:45 p.m. with doors and buffet opening at 6 p.m. Sunday matinees start at 1:30 p.m. with an 11:45 a.m. door and buffet opening. Finally, Wednesday matinees will start at 1 p.m. with doors and buffet opening also at 11:45 a.m. All performances are to go on at Derby Dinner Playhouse, located at 525 Marriott Drive in Clarksville, IN.
Tickets for each dinner and show range from $36-$45, depending on day of the show. All tickets can be purchased at the door, the Derby Dinner website, or by calling the Derby Dinner box office at 812-288-8281. More information on the show can also be found at the Derby Dinner website.
Copacabana takes a writer and audiences back to the 1940s and the New York nightclub that bares the same name as Barry Mainlow's song. Imagine, like the writer named Stephen, the lights, the sounds, and the soon-to-be-starlets, including Lola. She and the nightclub worker Tony hit it off and begin their tale of love, music, and danger.
Manilow crated the musical Copacabana along with Bruce Sussman and Jack Feldman. Lee Buckholz directed the production, which features Jordan Cyphert as Stephen and Tony and Kayla Peabody as Lola and Samantha.
During Copacabana's run, Derby Dinner Playhouse will also present the children's theatre show The Jungle Book. That shows opens on Saturday.
