A lady, a cunning ex-husband, alimony, and an affair. What could possibly go hilariously wrong? Find out in Killjoy, which opens at Derby Dinner Playhouse on Tuesday.
Killjoy will take place on all days except Mondays from Jan. 8 until Feb. 16. Performances in the evenings will happen at 7:45 p.m. each night with buffet starting at 6 p.m. Sunday matinee shows start at 1:30 p.m. with an 11:45 a.m. buffet. Finally, Wednesday matinees will occur at 1 p.m. with an 11:45 a.m. buffet. The Footnotes will perform before all shows except the Wednesday matinees. All performances will occur at Derby Dinner Playhouse, located at 525 Marriott Drive in Clarksville, IN.
Tickets for each show depend on the performance. Saturday evening shows are $44 per person, Friday evening shows are $41, all other evening shows are $40, Sunday matinees are $36, Wednesday matinees are $35 per person. Killjoy centers on Carol, who is driven to the point of insanity by her ex-husband, Victor, and his new wife. The latter two are attempting to end Carol's $1,000 per week alimony. To make things complicated, Carol's kids work at Victor's restaurant, and Carol has an affair with Victor's lawyer. Through this affair, Carol and the lawyer decide its time for Victor to die. (Though not quite the same subject matter, is anyone else thinking of the Dixie Chicks song, Goodbye Earl?)
Jerry Mayer created Killjoy, which Bekki Jo Schneider directed. The cast features Tina Jo Wallace as Carol and David Myers as Victor.
