Viola Swamp is brought in to help the Smedley Tomatoes win their first football game in the Derby Dinner children's theatre production Miss Nelson Has a Field Day, opening Saturday.
Public performances of Miss Nelson Has a Field Day will take place on Oct. 5, 12, 19, 26, Nov. 2, and 9 twice each day. Breakfast shows are to happen at 10 a.m. with buffet beginning at 9 a.m. Lunch shows will start at 1:15 p.m. with buffet beginning at noon. All performances are to happen at Derby Dinner Playhouse, located at 525 Marriott Drive in Clarksville, IN.
Tickets for the breakfast shows are $16 per person, and lunch shows are $21 per person. All tickets can be purchased at the Derby Dinner box office, the Derby Dinner website, or by calling the box office at 812-288-8281.
Miss Nelson Has a Field Day focuses on the Smedley Tomatoes, who have never won a football game. They have never even scored a point. Hoping to turn things around, Coach Armstrong taps Viola Swamp to get the team pumped up, in shape, and ready to win - or at least score.
Joan Cushing created the musical, which was adapted from Harry Allard's book. Heather Paige Folsom directed the production, which features Annette McCullouch, Cary Wiger, Lem Jackson, Bill Hanna, Chris Bryant, and Jill Sullivan.
