A couple trying to enjoy domestic bliss finds it interrupted when several of their family members move in during Derby Dinner Playhouse's production of Social Security, which is in previews today and officially opens on Thursday.

Social Security will take place each day from May 12-June 21. Evening shows are to go on at 7:45 p.m. with buffet opening at 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday matinees are to happen at 1:30 p.m. with buffet starting at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday matinee shows are to go on at 1 p.m. with buffet starting at 11:45 a.m. There are no Monday performances. All shows will take place at Derby Dinner Playhouse, located at 525 Marriott Drive in Clarksville, IN.

Tickets for each show range in price from $37-$46, depending on the performance date. All tickets can be purchased at the door, calling Derby Dinner Playhouse at 812-288-2636, or by going to the Derby Dinner Playhouse website.

The comedy Social Security focuses on a couple, David and Barbara, who are enjoying a life of tranquility and bliss inside their home. That bliss becomes total chaos when Barbara's crazy mother, a goody-goody sister, and the sister's CIA husband all begin living in the same place.

Andrew Bergman created the production, which Bekki Jo Schneider directed for Derby Dinner. The Social Security cast includes David Myers as David Kahn, Tina Jo Wallace as Barbara Kahn, Janet Essenpreis as Trudy, Cary Wiger as Martin, Rita Thomas as Sophie, and J.R. Stuart as Maurice.

The dinner buffet will feature entrees of carved turkey with gravy, Derby fried chicken, Derby fried fish, and pasta alfredo, and other items.

During Social Security's run, Derby Dinner's children's theater will present Sleeping Beauty. That show will begin on Saturday. More information on both shows can be found at the Derby Dinner Playhouse website.
