    One day.  Twenty groups.  Your audition. Theatre Alliance of Louisville will host its 2011 Unified Auditions on May 14.

    The unified auditions will take place at the JCTC campus inside the Hartford Building, which is located at the corner of First and Gray Streets in downtown Louisville.  Registration for auditioners will take place from 8:15 a.m.- 10 a.m..  The audition process will run with acting, dancing, and movement sessions, among others, through 5 p.m.  TAL recommends, but does not require, that everyone go through all sessions.  

    Prospective actors and actresses should prepare two monologues of differing styles (for example, one comedy, one drama), or one monologue and 16 bars of sheet music.  (There will be an accompanist during the audition.)  Also, auditioners should bring at least 20 copies of their resume and headshot, one for each participating theatre group.  

    Auditions will take place beginning at 9 a.m. with the monologue and song session.  Participants will be moved ten at a time to a room to audition in front of up to 20 theatre groups.  Auditioners will have two minutes to perform a song and/or monologues.  

    Movement and dance sessions will follow at 1:30 p.m. (movement) and 2:15 p.m. (dance).  Wear comfortable clothing for these sessions.  The day ends with call backs and meetings with companies one-on-one beginning at 3 p.m.

    According to the Theatre Alliance of Louisville blog, the following groups/people will be in attendance for the auditions:  Actors Theatre and Actors Theatre Apprentice/Intern Company, Alley Theatre and Alley Theatre for Young Audiences, The Bard's Town Theatre, Bunbury Theatre, Center Stage, Kathi E.B. Ellis, Emerging Artists Group, Julie Hamberg, Heyman Talent, Little Colonel Playhouse, Looking for Lilith Theatre Company, Louisville Repertory Company, Pandora Productions, Posthuma Productions, Savage Rose Classical Theatre Company, theatre 502, and Whodunnit Murder Mystery Theatre.
