Big River performances will take place on Nov. 19, 20, Dec. 3, and 4 at 7:30 p.m. each night.  All performances will occur inside the MainStage Theatre at the Youth Performing Arts School, located at 1517 S. 2nd Street in the Old Louisville section.

Big River features the adventures of Huck Finn and his friend Jim during the pre-Civil War years in Missouri.  Jim, a slave, must get across the Ohio River in order to find freedom, and Huck, a friend of Jim's, hopes to get him there.

Roger Miller created the music and lyrics for Big River while William Hauptman created the book.  Big River is based on Mark Twain's Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
