Enjoy coffee and snacks from local merchants as well as an open mic for you to share your poetry, music or crazed rants (ok, crazed rants weren't mentioned in the press release, but do you really think they'd cut the mic on anyone at a Unitarian church?). The cover charge is $3 with part of the proceeds benefiting the Kentucky Fairness Alliance (KFA). "Information will be available about the work being done to educate others on statewide fairness," said Travis Myles, KFA board chairperson. "We are going to use this time to talk about the need for everyone to do what they can and make every opportunity for success count."

Celebrate Bernheim's 80th anniversary with brats, games, burgers, bluegrass music, grilled corn, contests, hand-dipped ice cream, 80 wonderful things to do at Bernheim and ice-cold watermelon--apparently Bernheim's event planner subscribes to the Eric Cartman theory of improving attendance numbers: “More people will come if you say we have punch and pie.” Admission is free at the front gate.

"There's going to be a ceremony at noon that's going to designate the building as a historic landmark as home of Revolution Major Bray and his wife Nancy Lyle Bray," said Cynthia Cooke, owner and innkeeper of the the 213-year-old Bashford Manor. An ice cream social, performance by fiddler and storyteller Tom Cunningham and a speech from local historian Mary Garry will accompany the unveiling of the plaque donated by the Daughters of the American Colonists, Falls of the Ohio Chapter. Mayor Jerry Abramson also proclaimed Saturday "Green" Historic Bashford Manor Bed and Breakfast Day in honor of both the building's history and Cooke's work lessening its environmental impact. I haven't see any of the Batman movies since the second one (not including the 1966 cinematic masterpiece staring Adam West, which will never be equaled. That being said, I did enjoy the Midnights at the Baxter will be showing the film this Saturday night/Sunday mornin.. Tickets are $8.50. (Via Consuming Louisville)
Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Social

Eat ice cream, watch a magic show and ride a miniature train, horse-drawn carriage and/or pony on the banks of the mighty Ohio River at this family-oriented event. Admission is free, but tours of the Farnsley-Moremen House and the rides will cost you a few bucks. The Legendary Cruisers Band, will play oldies from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and Flashpoint will bring a burning 90-minute set of variety dance tunes to the stage at 3:30 p.m.
