Head over to the New Vintage tonight if you're looking for a snazzy New Years Eve event that won't cost a year's worth of savings. There's nothing better than dancing in the new year, and this show will give you an affordable option for plenty of opportunities to dance and down some champagne as Soundtrakno warms the crowd up before Zach Longoria Project takes over to ring in the new year. Soundtrakno is a hip local DJ who will be throwing down remixed versions of top 40 songs like California Love, Return of the Mack and Next Episode; Zach Longoria Project is an 11 piece r&b/funk band, fresh off a big show at Headliner's who released their first album this year and have been heard on WFPK's live lunch. They'll keep things funky with originals and carefully selected covers like "Let's Get it On" and "Love Never Felt So Good" to keep the dance floor happening.
"They are very energetic," said Soundtrakno, describing Zach Langoria Project. "They will make you get up and dance whether you want to or not."
That might sound like they'll hold you up at gunpoint, but I doubt it. The show starts at 9 p.m. but you may want to arrive early; The New Year's Eve party at New Vintage last year sold out. The tickets are $15 but also include a free champagne toast at midnight, so be ready to grab somebody close for a New Year's kiss. You'll want to dress to impress for this party so you'll look your best dancing to the flashing lights and funky music.
The New Vintage is at 2126 S. Preston St. You can call them at (502) 749-4050.
You can check out Zach Longoria Project on their Facebook page, where they have posted photos and videos from previous shows. Soundtrakno has a Soundcloud page, where you can listen to some of his mixes.
