Louisville’s got a new bar and music venue. It’s called Tin Roof, and it’s not yet open. In fact, from what I can tell, the grand opening is looming ever closer and yet is still surrounded by mystery. The St. Matthews location has posted requests for local bands on Facebook and Twitter, and have tweeted both “Not Open Friday #SORRY we got our liquor license :) and Food” and “Camping out for tin roof opening date would be sick”.
The exterior gives off a retro vibe, which nestles nicely next to St. Matthew’s Hardware, a longstanding Louisville landmark. When it eventually opens, it’ll have a full bar along with a menu including salads, appetizers (some even award-winning), quesadillas, and sandwiches. Their calendar is also mysteriously as bare as their opening details, but should soon be filled with local musicians.
The Tin Roof in Louisville is part of a small chain of other Tin Roofs. The first location opened in Nashville ten years ago, and a second soon followed in another part of Nashville. In the past ten years, they’ve since added locations in Lexington, Columbia, Birmingham, Indianapolis, and two in Knoxville. Louisville’s opening is coupled with a new location in Cincinnati.
The sleuth in me is intrigued by their non-information regarding their opening. You can keep an eye out for updates and pictures on their Twitter and Facebook accounts. They’ll soon be opening at 3921 Shelbyville Road, perhaps even this weekend.
