It’s the last week of April which means Derby is right around the corner! There’s only a few more days left to find the perfect outfit and Derby hat to wear if you’re attending this year’s big race. And if Churchill Downs isn’t where you’ll be for the first Saturday in May this year, you only have a few days left to plan your Derby party. But regardless of how you’re planning to spend one of the year’s most celebrated days in Louisville, don’t forget to make plans for one of the city’s most eventful nights!
And for many of us, the night just got a little bigger with the Tin Roof’s Derby night concert announcement. The St. Matthews bar will be hosting DMC of RunDMC as he performs all the hits!
Darryl “DMC” McDaniels will be performing everyone’s Run-DMC favorites from “It’s Tricky” to “Walk This Way.” And in such a small, intimate venue, this show is definitely a must for all true hiphop fans.
For those who aren’t familiar with the 30-year-old hiphop group, Run-DMC first broke into the music business in 1984 with the release of their first self-titled album. After that, the group went on to be the very first hiphop group to ever go multi-platinum and also the first hiphop group to be featured on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine. So to put it simply, DMC is kind of a big deal.
And according to the rapper’s website and Ticketmaster, DMC isn’t performing again until late July in Michigan, so you definitely don’t want to miss him this Saturday night at the Tin Roof.
The show starts at 8pm and you must be at least 21 years old to attend. Advance tickets can be purchased for $15 here, and can also be purchased for $20 at the Tin Roof on the day of the show.
